An event celebrating the roles of women in leadership raised £2,000 for charity.

The event at St Edward's School, Cheltenham, was in aid of Gloucestershire-based The Nelson Trust.

The evening focused on female leaders from Gloucestershire who have scaled and grown their businesses.

Emma Summers, founder and CEO of Juice Recruitment, spoke about her experience of overcoming imposter syndrome to create a highly successful business.

She detailed her journey, from founding her business to opening multiple offices which partner with a number of clients. Emma spoke about her loyal staff who are on a journey of doing things differently, with a clear culture, vision and growth plan for the business.

Lucy Beresford, joint managing director of SLG Brands, spoke about how her business must remain quick and agile to consumer trends.

Lucy shared five pieces of advice which have formed the basis of her leadership path, including the importance of having a clear vision for the business by knowing where you are going and why.

She also detailed the importance of a strong recruitment model, and the importance of keeping your self-talk strong and having a resolute inner voice.

The event provided an opportunity for members of the local business community to connect with like-minded business leaders.

The event raised £2,000 for the work of The Nelson Trust, bringing belief, hope and long-term recovery to people whose lives have been impacted by addiction and multiple unmet needs.
