House developer gains county recognition

Barnwood-based developer, Newland Homes, has been identified as one of the top 100 most successful private companies in the Gloucestershire Limited Awards.

The Limited Awards, by Grant Thornton, celebrate the UK's leading private limited companies and Newland Homes has been recognised in the first awards for the Gloucestershire region, securing 26th position based on company turnover. Green Britain Group, led by Dale Vince OBE and based in Cirencester, took the top spot.

Grant Thornton, an international accounting firm, reviewed the county to provide an insight into the scale of Gloucestershire's privately owned business community. The county's top 100 privately owned businesses had a total turnover of £5.4bn according to the most recently available accounts (as of July 2023).

In an industry snapshot also prepared by Grant Thornton, the real estate and construction sectors employed 2,154 people in Gloucestershire with a total revenue of £619m. Newland Homes also ranks highly amongst the most profitable businesses in the county.

David Foreman, managing director of Newland Homes, said: "The collective results of the businesses included in this report demonstrate the strong entrepreneurial nature of the Gloucestershire region. There are many great companies achieving extraordinary things in their respective fields in the county, and we're honoured that Newland Homes has been identified in this distinguished group of businesses."

Newland Homes has scooped many industry and business accolades since its inception in 1991. It currently has nine developments underway in the South West, providing circa 400 low and zero-carbon new homes in the near future.

Grant Thornton's Gloucestershire Limited Report is part of a regional series of business analyses by county. It aims to highlight the most successful private companies across the region and recognise their achievements and contributions to the economy.
