Town crier launches Government WhatsApp

Alan Myatt, Gloucester's legendary town crier, is the star of a new advert.

The UK Government has just launched on WhatsApp and who better to tell the world about it than the man who holds the Guiness world record for the loudest town crier?

The short advert features Alan Myatt in full town crier gear announcing the launch of the new WhatsApp service at various tourist hotspots around London.

The advert then shows him in the pub, with the words: "We had to retire the town crier. Sorry Alan."

Alan Myatt became Gloucester's town crier in 1989 and is the organiser of Gloucester Day. He is also town crier for several other towns and cities, including Covent Garden in London.
