A Gloucester business is calling for information about a fire yesterday (January 21).
Nobody was injured in the blaze at a city trading estate.
Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service wrote on X, formerly Twitter, yesterday morning that it was attending a large fire in the area of Severnside Trading Estate.
Carl Russell, joint managing director at Gloucester Glass, close to the blaze, told Punchline-Gloucester.com: "We were alerted to a fire that appeared to have started in a big open skip outside Archer Recycling next door to Gloucester Glass.
"Glos Fire and Rescue were called and rapidly arrived at the scene with numerous appliances, then thankfully were able to deal with the fire quickly. There was some damage sustained to buildings and vehicles parked close by but thankfully no one was injured."
Writing on LinkedIn, Carl Russell said there were 10 fire appliances and 40 firefighters on the scene.
Other businesspeople shared their relief that the outcome hadn't been any worse.
Jeremy Phillips, MD at Clearway Doors & Windows Ltd, wrote: "Too close for comfort. Glad Gloucester Glass is OK."
Thomas Cahill wrote: "Thanks to the fire service for the quick response!"
Julie Kent MBE wrote: "Gosh glad Gloucester Glass is OK."
Anyone with any information about the fire should get in touch with Carl Russell on 07802 740493.
