Big Zoom decline since 2020

It was the saviour of working life during the pandemic, but far less of us are using Zoom now.
Downloads of the app fell by 89% between its peak in spring 2020, when it was used for work, education and socialising, and the final quarter of 2023, according to Stocklytics.com.
Edith Reads, Stocklytics financial analyst, said: "In 2020, Zoom was the most downloaded app on Apple devices. It reported $2.6 billion in revenue for the year ending in January 2021, a 326% rise from the prior year.
"The need for video conferencing tools like Zoom has waned as the world gradually adjusts to a post-pandemic reality. This is reflected in the app's declining download numbers. While Zoom remains a significant player in the video communication landscape, its dominance appears to fade as life returns to normalcy and people return to in-person interactions."
Microsoft Teams also experienced a big download spike in early 2020, but consistently lagged behind its rival.
While downloads have declined, Zoom still boasts a large user base built during its peak - including the team at Punchline-Gloucester.com!
