Lloyds to shut Forest branch

Lloyds is to close its Cinderford branch early next year.

The bank will close its doors for the final time on January 9.

It is the latest in a long line of closures nationally and around the county, and follows hot on the heels of the announcement that Stroud's Halifax branch will close in November.

Lloyds Banking Group has announced it will close 66 branches nationally this winter. Between October and January, 48 Lloyds branches and 18 Halifax branches will shut.

Lloyds said all customers in towns where branches closed have alternative access to cash from a free-to-use ATM within half a mile.
