Five-vehicle crash on Crickley Hill

Emergency services were called last night (October 27) to a five-vehicle collision on the A417 at Crickley Hill.

The collision was reported at about 9.10pm tonight and happened opposite the turning to Cold Slad.

One woman was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A man had to be released from his vehicle by the fire and rescue service, but is not believed to have serious injuries. The drivers of the other three vehicles were not injured.

Roads approaching the Air Balloon roundabout were closed for several hours to allow collision investigators to carry out their work and vehicles to be recovered.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 396 of 27 October.

More detail was revealed just last month of the multi-million pound plans to transfer the stretch of the A417 - a notorious accident black spot.
