Bands with a huge following including Buzzcocks, OMD and The Levellers are descending on Cheltenham this weekend for one of the county's favourite family-friendly festivals.

Welcoming all generations, Wychwood Festival curates a packed programme year-on-year with timeless greats, upcoming music, literature, comedy, children's entertainment and food and drink.

The Festival gets under way at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday with Billy Bragg, The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band bringing a spectacular celebration to the main stage with vibrant, colourful and enchanting beats and 'ones to watch', InHeaven, echoing the sounds of 90s grunge.

Fresh off the back of their incredibly successful 40th anniversary tour last year, the Bolton four-piece Buzzcocks headline, sure to wow the crowds with their timeless back catalogue of hits including Ever Fallen In Love.

On Saturday, chill out with Aswad, Northern Soul maestros Smoove and Turrell, Kanda Bongo Man and the Dhol Foundation before headliners Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark bring the night to a rapturous end.

OMD founding members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys will be bringing their iconic 80s electronic sound to Wychwood for the first time.

On Sunday, performers include Jesus Jones, Electric Swing Circus and The Strypes, a four-piece Irish rock band who take inspiration from the likes of Elvis Costello, The Stones and The Jam.

The festival comes to a close with a storming set by The Levellers who recently embarked on a large UK tour to support the re-release of their platinum-selling 1991 album, Levelling the Land, which features hit singles One Way, 15 Years and Far From Home.

As well as the main stage, there are a whole host of acts on The Hobgoblin Stage including Arron Keylock, The Prohibition Smokers, The Black Feathers, Deadbeat Apostles and George Montague.

There is also plenty of family entertainment with workshops, performances and talks, including yoga, circus classes, multi-sensory music sessions and arts and crafts.

Day tickets to Wychwood Festival start at £47 and under-fives go free. For more details, visit www.wychwoodfestival.com
