Growing transport group CM Downton has made a significant investment to expand its fleet.
The Moreton Valence based company has confirmed orders for 100 new DAF trucks, 100 Cartwright curtainsiders and 100 Tiger Trailers curtainsiders.
The company says the additional capacity provided by these vehicles will support new and existing contracts as the business continues to grow.
Andy Downton, managing director of CM Downton, said: "We've always invested in high performance and quality products to support our business and our current fleet predominantly comprises equipment from DAF, Cartwright and Tiger Trailers.
"We have secured significant new business recently and increased operations with a number of existing clients. These new vehicles will provide additional capacity and flexibility to meet the demands of these operations."
The DAF XF trucks, among the most powerful in the manufacturer's range, have been configured to Downton's own specification including MX13 460bhp Euro 6 engine, Super Space Cab, 6x2 axle configuration, and AS Tronic automatic transmission.
As with all Downton trucks, these will be maintained in-house by the group.
Downton will take delivery of the new vehicles during 2017. The company has not revealed financial details of the orders.
Downton's customers include some of the UK's largest companies from a range of sectors including print and publishing, food and drink, retail, manufacturing, ink and paper, energy, waste and consumer goods.
The business employs approximately 1,350 people at 12 distribution hubs strategically located throughout the UK and operates 600 tractor units and 1,800 trailers
