Why be satisfied with appearing on reality TV, binge watching box-sets or streaming your favourite programmes, when you can have a career creating the TV that others watch?

Studying TV Production at the University of Gloucestershire equips students extremely well for working in the industry. Students explore and produce programmes in all of the three main production areas of broadcast and streaming platforms - fiction, documentary and multi-camera studio entertainment.

Based on the Park Campus in Cheltenham, most of the teaching staff continue to work in the TV industry and thrive on imparting their up-to-date knowledge to their students. Vanessa Bewley brings her casting and producing experience, Vito Rocco brings his TV drama and studio directing experience and Jeremy Power brings 20 years of editing experience at the BBC.

Course Leader, Nick Stubbs, worked as a freelancer for over 20 years, as an assistant director, producer and director with a variety of companies, including BBC and TalkBack Productions.

He said: "Our students are passionate about TV. They learn by making, working with industry-relevant cameras, sound and editing equipment, in our professionally equipped HD multi-camera studio, as well as out on location.

"They gain knowledge, skills and career guidance from our award-winning teaching team of highly experienced industry producers and directors, who have worked on recent high-profile dramas, documentaries and studio shows for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky and ITV. Students also have access to UK-wide field trips to support the development of their work.

"Our graduates have progressed on to great roles including: assistant producer on 24 Hours in A&E; costume assistant on Strictly Come Dancing; edit assistant on The Island with Bear Grylls; lighting assistant on The Grand Tour; production secretary on Doctor Who; researcher on The Apprentice; sound assistant on The Crown; and vision mixer on Good Morning Britain. We are immensely proud of our alumni."

Tom Power, course graduate, said: "I initially wanted to focus on drama. I thought 'I'm going to be the next Guy Ritchie', and then I did studio in my second year, and I loved studio. I thought 'I'm going to make the next Soccer AM'. And finally, I discovered a love for documentary in my third year and thought, this is for me. I wouldn't have had the chances and career I've had, if I hadn't done this course."
