Train the trainer safeguarding workshops

Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board is holding two train the trainer workshops for organisations with150 employees or more, which wish to have their own internal safeguarding or MCA trainer.

Safeguarding Level 2 Train the Trainer - August 31 09:30 - 13:00

This workshop will take prospective trainers through the Safeguarding Level 2 training package to enable them to deliver virtual and/ or face-to-face sessions.

The Level 2 training is designed to be delivered to all frontline staff who have direct contact with adults with care and support needs. Approved trainers who deliver this course will support their learners to identify an adult in need of safeguarding and to understand their role in safeguarding adults.

Mental Capacity Act Level 2 Train the Trainer - September 9 09:30 - 13:00

This workshop is intended for trainers who wish to deliver the half-day, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Level 2 Foundation training.

The workshop will take prospective new trainers through the training package (provided with all materials), giving background to the overall network, supporting information behind the training materials and ideas for delivery methods to engage learners.

Both workshops are for trainers to deliver training to organisations within Gloucestershire only.

Participants will need to have a training/ teaching qualification or experience in delivering training and will need to have an understanding of the practice relating to the subject.

They must be able to deliver the training a minimum of three times per year. The first delivery session will be observed, and quality assured by the safeguarding adults training lead, before they are signed off as an approved trainer and a network member.

New trainers who attend either workshop will need to join the annual GSAB Trainer Event on September 22 09:30 - 15:00, at The Pavilion, Hatherley Lane, Cheltenham, GL51 6PN.
