Security and software patenting webinar

An experienced UK and European patent and intellectual property attorney is the guest speaker at a webinar next week, hosted by University of Gloucestershire's C11 Cyber Security and Digital Innovation Centre.

Andrew Rudhall, from global IP firm Haseltine Lake Kempner, will provide an overview of the critical questions, process and concerns associated with considering patenting, at a webinar entitled Protecting your software or intellectual property innovation through patents.

He will explore how patenting applies to software, including computer security and creative computing areas, such as gaming software development.

Andrew has advised a wide variety of clients including start-ups, SMEs, universities and multi-national companies on patent matters in the fields of electronics and engineering.

The C11 webinar takes place on May 5 between 12.30pm and 1.30pm via Microsoft Teams, and registration is open.

Professor Kamal Bechkoum, head of the School of Computing and Engineering at the university, said: "Andrew will offer insight and advice about what is patentable, as well as an explanation of the pros and cons of the process.

"Whether you are involved in innovation development as a start-up, SME, an academic researcher or major industry player, we believe the webinar will help you stay up to date on this increasingly important topic within computing."
