Green aviation company partners with Gloucestershire students

A Cotswold company is partnering with SGS Berkeley Green University Technical College (UTC) to encourage the next generation of engineers.

ZeroAvia will be offering students at the UTC work-based projects, mentoring, work experience and apprenticeships at its R&D facility, based at Cotswold Airport near Cirencester.

The partnership between ZeroAvia and the UTC will help build the skills locally, which will be needed for the future.

ZeroAvia is the leading developer of zero-emission, hydrogen-electric aviation. It is committed to solving aviation's climate impact, to ensure the world continues to be connected through the power of flight, without doing harm to the planet.

The company is one of a number of local employers which is able to tap into the talent studying at Berkeley Green.

Jennifer Peirce, assistant headteacher of Berkely Green UTC, said: "We are delighted to be working with ZeroAvia and their contribution has already inspired many of our students.

"The concept of sustainable aviation aligns closely with the eco-school agenda and is the future for the engineering and digital careers we are training students. We are looking forward to continuing and growing our partnership in the coming years."

As its expands its training and apprenticeship schemes, ZeroAvia looks forward to offering young people from Cirencester and beyond the opportunity to get their start in a career tackling one of the toughest challenges for the net zero transition.
