Free IT users course

Gloucestershire College is offering a free online IT course for adults aged 19+.

The course will help learners build on their existing IT knowledge for home and the workplace and learn how to make the most of widely used IT software. It will:

• Boost your CV and gain IT skills valued by UK employers

• Gain intermediate knowledge of widely used Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

• Master IT techniques to improve your productivity in the workplace

• Continue to develop your computer skills to aid your progress in a variety of different careers

Each unit of the course contains an assessment to demonstrate knowledge of each subject area. On successful completion of all four units, learners will achieve a Level 2 certificate in IT user skills.

Unit 1: Word processing software includes managing documents, word processing editing tools and structure and layout.

Unit 2: Presentation software includes entering information into presentations, presentation editing tools and preparing your presentation.

Unit 3: Spreadsheet software includes creating a spreadsheet, analysing data and charts and graphs.

The duration of the course is 14 weeks and participants are expected to spend 10 hours per week studying.
