Free event: How your local university can help your business grow

The University of Gloucestershire is holding a free event in partnership with The Growth Hub Forest of Dean next month.

By working with the University of Gloucestershire, businesses can upskill their staff with a degree for free (or for only five per cent of the cost), with the Government funding the rest.

At the event on May 26 (2pm-4pm) business owners can find out more about boosting the skills of their existing workforce to futureproof their business.

As a local degree apprenticeship provider, the University of Gloucestershire wants to help local people, and therefore local businesses, reach their full potential, by helping them make the most of the Government's Apprenticeship Levy.

The Apprenticeship Levy exists to help businesses prosper. If your business' annual salary bill is over £3 million, you'll have to pay into the levy, meaning you can benefit from full Government funding of any degree apprenticeships your staff complete. If your business' annual salary bill is less than £3 million, you'll qualify for 95% funding.

At this free event, held at The Growth Hub Forest of Dean, businesses will hear from the University of Gloucestershire's head of client relations, Leonie Burton, who will share more on the degree apprenticeships on offer, and how these can help businesses thrive.

Tom El-Shawk, Forest of Dean Growth Hub manager and business navigator, will talk about how the Growth Hub works and how it can help businesses flourish in the Forest of Dean.

There will also be time for questions and networking, while enjoying a tea or coffee and a slice of cake.

This event is aimed at business owners and HR or learning and development professionals, who are based in and around the Forest of Dean.
