T-level students explore risk assessment

T-level childcare and education students at Cirencester College explored risk assessment with an educational visit to Westonbirt Arboretum.

The Year 1 and 2 students took part in sessions led by Forestry England and Learning with Nature aimed at helping them to understand key risk assessment points to consider when taking a group of children on an educational visit to Westonbirt.

These sessions saw the students complete practical activities, such as making homes for different types of animals and worm pies, before completing a number of risk assessment and activity planning tasks.

Kate, childcare lecturer, said "These sessions were really engaging and enjoyed by all, even the teachers learned quite a lot!"
