Council hits apprenticeship target

Cheltenham Borough Council is delighted to have welcomed five new apprentices to the council this year.

The council set itself a target of recruiting five new apprentices for 2021, to support its ambition to help everyone to be their best.

They are:

  • Stuart Fieldhouse, PR and communications
  • Poppy Matthews, PR and communications
  • Adam Birtwistle, finance
  • Charlie Shillam, licensing
  • Matt Groves, building control

The apprentices are studying with either Gloucestershire College, Cirencester College or the University of Wolverhampton.

Cllr Rowena Hay, leader of Cheltenham Borough Council, recently met the apprentices. She said: "It was great to meet the apprentices in person and have the opportunity to chat to them about their new positions and introduce them to my role as leader."
