Local businesses are invited to join Gloucestershire College on February 17 for a morning of breakfast, networking and talks with special guests Amazon Web Services.

The event from 9am to 11am will focus on equipping local businesses with knowledge and practical guidance on developing and retaining a motivated, highly skilled workforce in IT, cyber and professional services.

Guest speakers Cecilie Lowson and Kira Levy from Amazon Web Services will be discussing:

• How AWS is dealing with the skills shortage in the technology sector

• Combating the great resignation - tips for retaining skilled ICT staff

• Attracting new staff in the tech sector - what AWS has learned from the pandemic

A member of the college's apprenticeships teaching team will also be sharing their perspective on upcoming talent in the industry and how employers can tap into that talent pool.

Businesses will have the opportunity to network, share their experiences and learn from Gloucestershire College's employer training and apprenticeships team on how to get the most out of apprenticeships and available funding.

The business breakfast is free to attend and includes a sit-down breakfast in the college's onsite restaurant, Restaurant Number One. The talks will take place in ADA, the college's £3m cyber and tech training facility.
