Apprenticeships for senior professionals event

University of Gloucestershire is holding an apprenticeships for senior professionals event later this month.

The event at the Gloucestershire Business School, on the Oxstalls campus in Gloucester, takes place on March 29, 3pm-5pm. It is a chance to find out more about senior career progression via apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to upskill, especially when it comes to the next generation of senior management within a business.

A great example of this is Lynette Barrett, CEO of National Star. She completed the senior leadership degree apprenticeship, in order to progress her career into more senior management.

Lynnette Barrett said: "Completing the senior leadership programme has helped me in various ways. One of the main aspects is around the legitimacy of being a senior manager and having a qualification that matches that.

"In terms of my career, I knew that I wanted to progress. I was a chief operating officer at that time, and the likelihood was that if I progressed my career that it would be into a chief executive role, and I knew that I would need an MBA to do that."

This event will specifically cover three apprenticeship programmes - senior facilities manager, senior people professional and chartered hospitality manager - out of the full range of leadership and management degree apprenticeships offered by the University of Gloucestershire.

It will also cover the benefits of apprenticeships overall, how they work, and why organisations should work with the university to fulfil their business needs.

The event will include tea, coffee and light refreshments.

The event is free. Register for a place here.
