Apply now for National Legal Trainee Scheme

Applications are open now for law graduates looking to take the next step in their training.

The CPS National Legal Trainee Scheme is open to those who wish to complete their qualifying solicitor training with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS,) with a goal of becoming a permanent CPS crown prosecutor.

The Legal Trainee Scheme is for September 2023 and applications close on January 31, 2022. It is available at a number of cities around England and Wales, with the closest to Gloucestershire being Bristol and Birmingham.

The scheme is open to applications from people who hold an undergraduate degree in law (or have completed a conversion) at a minimum 2:2 and have completed, or will be due to complete, their post graduate Legal Practice Course (LPC) or SQE 1 and 2, in order for them to start training in September 2023.

The CPS is offering approximately 80 legal trainee posts in total (solicitors and barristers).
