Important advice for business from NCSC at webinar

A senior executive from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the guest speaker at a webinar aimed at helping businesses respond to the growing cyber threat within supply chains.

The webinar on January 26 will be hosted by University of Gloucestershire's C11 Cyber and Security and Digital Innovation Centre.

Dr Kevin T (full name not disclosed) will address issues around security weaknesses in an organisation's supply chain and how cyber attackers exploit them, what businesses should be doing to protect themselves and what the Government is doing to support supply chain cyber security.

The webinar will take place between 12.15pm and 1.15pm. It is free to attend but spaces must be booked in advance.

Kevin, who was recently awarded an OBE for services to national security, leads on the provision of NCSC support to cyber regulation in UK critical national infrastructure (CNI).

He is responsible for coordinating the work of the many different NCSC teams contributing to the effective operation of cyber regulation, with a particular focus on cross-sector aspects of the subject.

Kevin has around 20 years' experience working in government cyber security, having previously led a range of teams in the Communications Electronics Security Group - the information security arm of GCHQ.

He has delivered cyber security support to a range of major national programmes, including the London 2012 Olympic Games and the rollout of smart meters.

Most recently, he has had responsibility for NCSC's work on cyber security in a range of CNI sectors, including energy, civil nuclear, water and chemicals.
