T Level alumni making a difference in construction

A former Cirencester College student is making waves in the construction industry just months after finishing college.

Caio completed his T Level in design, surveying and planning earlier this year.

Caio, formerly of Swindon Academy, studied at Cirencester College between 2023 and 2025. For his industry placement, he worked with Beard Construction in Swindon. He impressed his employer so much, that he was offered a full-time contract with them for when he finished his T Level.

Caio started working at Beards full-time in August and has continued to impress his colleagues. Recently, he received a monthly recognition award at the Swindon regional briefing for his hard work.

Jamie Harwood, director and company safety director, Swindon, said: "Caio's professionalism, enthusiasm and willingness to learn impressed the Swindon team during his T Level placement.

"We knew it would have been a missed opportunity to let him go, so we were delighted to welcome him back in August on a full-time contract as a trainee site manager.

"At Beards, we're committed to nurturing the next generation of construction talent, and T Level placements are a fantastic way to invest in young people like Caio. We've seen first-hand how valuable these placements are for both the student and the business, and we're looking forward to welcoming more T Level students at Beards."

Craig Bloxsome, course team leader for design, surveying and planning at Cirencester College, said: "Caio's journey from T Level student to full-time trainee site manager with Beards is a brilliant example of how powerful T Level qualifications can be.

"His success shows how the design, surveying and planning for construction T Level at Cirencester College equips students with the skills and confidence to thrive in the construction industry. We're proud to see our learners making such a strong impact in the workplace, especially at the beginning of his career."
