Gloucester primary to join SAND Academies Trust

Calton Primary School in Gloucester is set to join SAND Academies Trust.

Headteacher Jane Barker-Doe and chair of governors, Tracy Millard, announced that the mainstream school will join the trust in August this year.

The city centre school has around 580 pupils.

Antonia Noble, chair of the SAND board, said: "We warmly welcome Calton to our trust and we look forward to working with the team."

SAND Academies Trust currently consists of six schools in Gloucestershire - five special schools and Willow Primary Academy, which is a mainstream school with an SEN unit attached for 30 pupils.
