Apprenticeships at Poeton
By Sarah Wood | 26th May 2021
Local engineering company Poeton has a number of apprenticeships available in Gloucester.
If you are looking to take your first steps in a career at an engineering company, have an interest in science and a willingness to learn and develop new skills, this could be the role for you.
Poeteon is expanding its long-running apprenticeship programme to cover a wider range of roles across the business.
There are three operator inspector apprenticeships available (plus a further three at the company's Cardiff base), one in maintenance and one in sales.
Poeton is currently expanding into new markets with its cutting-edge solutions. It has over 120 years of experience and has been involved in some of the world's biggest and most successful engineering projects.
If you want to be involved in helping rail braking systems perform efficiently, the next generation aircraft land safely, and keeping food manufacturers operating around the clock, then an apprenticeship with Poeton is the role for you.
The apprenticeship programme will last for two to four years. During this time, apprentices will combine study at a local college with a bespoke training programme to develop their practical skills. The apprenticeship will cover numerous sections of the business, giving apprentices a thorough overview and understanding of Poeton's surface treatments and how the company operates.
Apprentices will achieve a formal qualification and a stepping stone into a career at Poeton. Exact qualifications will vary, depending on the apprenticeship you apply for, but details can be provided on request.
Candidates should have, or will achieve in 2021, a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or 4 and above, a willingness to learn new skills and a genuine interest in science and engineering.
The apprenticeship will start in September 2021, but the operator inspector role also includes two weeks of work experience over the summer.
To apply, email your CV to careers@poeton.co.uk by 6th June.
