VIDEO: New mega sports store opens in Cheltenham

A new sportswear superstore has opened in Cheltenham.

Decathlon is located in the old TK Maxx in Regent Arcade and has 17,000 square feet of floorspace, offering most of the 70 sports in the company's range.

Laura Jimenez Adalia, operations manager, said: "It's been super busy, busier than expected, so we are quite happy."

Originally from Spain, she has been with the company since 2009, most recently in Reading.

"We do almost everything," Laura said.

There are separate sections for the different sports including football, tennis, running, hiking, swimming, equestrian, fitness as well as e-scooters, roller blades and skateboards.

The family-owned retailer began life in France in 1976 and now has 2,000 stores in 56 countries.
