Hundreds of pro-Palestine supporters protested outside a Cheltenham factory that makes military electronic equipment today.

Between 250 and 300 protesters from various parts of England and Wales staged a noisy protest outside the Ultra Precision Control Systems site in Hatherley Lane, Up Hatherley.

The site, which is at Arle Court and is opposite an Asda supermarket, had been fenced off by the company because of the protest. It brought in a team of security guards, who stood facing the protesters.
Several police officers were there to try to ensure that the protest went off peacefully.
Using a loud haler, drums and whistles, the demonstrators' chants accused Ultra of being complicit in the alleged genocide of Palestinian people in Gaza, during the ongoing conflict with Israel. The biggest banner they displayed read 'Stop Arming Israel'.
Some passing motorists beeped their horns to show they agreed with the sentiments of the protesters but other onlookers shook their heads, clearly disagreeing with what was happening.

Ultra PCS, which provides parts for military aircraft and vehicles as well as in civilian aircraft, issued a statement because of the protest.
It said: "Ultra PCS respects and supports the right to peaceful protest.
The ongoing situation in Israel and Gaza is deeply saddening and we hope a resolution can be found as soon as possible.
"Ultra PCS is fully committed to complying with international and domestic law, including defence export controls. We remain in conversation with our partners across government and we are supportive of its guidance regarding international trade."
Punchline.com says: It's only right that the public be allowed to demonstrate peacefully when they feel strongly about issues such as this.
But equally we must defend the right for companies in Gloucestershire to go about their legitimate business. The defence industry is an important one that plays a big role in the commercial sector of the county and provides many jobs here.
