Fashion retailer sold for £50m

Fashion chain, White Stuff, has been snapped up by the owner of Hobbs, Phase Eight and Whistles.

The retailer, which has stores in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester, has been sold to South Africa-based retail firm The Foschini Group (TFG) for £50m, as reported by This is Money.

TFG plans to expand White Stuff's portfolio of shops and concessions, after recent growth for the brand.

The retailer was founded in 1985 and reported record sales of £154.8m in the year to April 2024.

White Stuff's CEO will continue in the role, while the two founders will step down from the board and leave the business.
