EXCLUSIVE: Gloucestershire tech trailblazer sold

Quedgeley-based computer infrastructure and networking specialist Infrastar has been acquired by the Frazer-Nash Consultancy, which is a leading provider of networking and IT solutions in the secure government sector.
With some 1,000 employees working from a network of nine UK and four Australian locations, the Gloucester addition to Frazer-Nash's extensive operations has been welcomed as a "significant milestone" for the consultancy in its ongoing quest for growth.

A Frazer-Nash spokesperson said: "By combining our strengths, we're poised to unlock new opportunities and deliver even greater value to our customers in the Secure Government market."
Since it was sold for £293m by then parent Babcock to US firm KBR in 2021, Frazer-Nash has consolidated a global position in defence, natural resources, rail and aerospace, though the company name is familiar to car buffs for a different reason: in the 1920s, its founder, Archie Frazer-Nash, set up the Frazer Nash company to design and produce specialist cars, with surviving examples being highly prized.
Frazer-Nash added: "Infrastar brings deep expertise in delivering end-to-end operational support and driving efficiencies for secure mission-critical environments. This strategic acquisition enhances our ability to deliver advanced technical mission solutions."

Infrastar is yet to publish a statement on its acquisition but CEO Glen Griffin has updated his role with the company and becomes Client Director in the new structure. Infrastar employs some 80 people in total and it is not thought that the move within Frazer-Nash entails any relocation.
Infrastar is the sponsor for Punchline TV's Big Interview and you can see more about Mr Griffin's business vision when he shared his thoughts in a recent chat with Punchline-Gloucester.com Editor Mark Owen here.
Mr Griffin told Punchline-Gloucester.com TV Big Interview at the time: "Infrastar was born out of a need for people with infrastructure skills working around large types of computer systems. One of my skills is knowing people. I love technology and looking into the future. Business is hard and you have got to stand out as a small company. I think we do it quite well."
