Plastic-free shop heading for Cheltenham

A new loose foods and refills shop is set to open in Cheltenham on 1st December.

Foodloose and Plastic Free will be based at the Global Footsteps cafe in Portland Street, close to the town centre.

Members of Cheltenham Green Party recently tried a plastic-free challenge and discovered it was very difficult to find alternatives locally. From there, the idea for Foodloose was born.

Concerned about the huge amount of plastic waste our society generates and the damage it does to our environment, Foodloose will give people the opportunity to buy food and cleaning products without trashing the earth.

The store will be supplying a range of organic and fair-trade dried goods such as beans, seeds, dried fruit, grains and nuts. It will also stock a variety of refillable household and personal cleaning products such as washing-up liquid, toilet cleaner, shampoo and liquid soap, as well as loose toilet rolls, bamboo toothbrushes, re-useable coffee cups and much more.
