Work is well underway at the new Bakers + Baristas coffee shop at Gloucester Quays.

The Irish brand was given planning permission in January for the unit at the end of High Orchard Way, a stone's throw from rival Caffe Nero.

Bakers + Baristas is known for its freshly baked muffins, with more than 30 varieties on offer in each shop.

The chain has 57 UK coffee shops, mainly in the South East, the East Midlands and the North West with the closest at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. The location map shows a big space between Bristol and Stoke-on-Trent, ready for the Gloucester branch!

It is not yet known when the Gloucester store will open.
