White Stuff to go on the market?

The founders of fashion chain, White Stuff, are looking into a possible sale of the business.

Sean Thomas and George Treves had an unsolicited offer for the retailer, which led them to hire investment bank Rothschild to manage the process, as reported by Retail Gazette.

The decision to go ahead with the sale of the business, which has stores in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester, is expected to be based on the value it attracts.

One analyst has stated that White Stuff could be worth in the region of £50m.

In November, the retailer posted a rise in both profits and sales, with sales up 13.3% year on year to £151.4m. Profits more than doubled - from £2.9m to £7m.
