A Gloucestershire man has launched a new sweet shop, just two doors down from his wife's brow business.

Amanda Taitt started her beauty business, Gimme Brows, at Space Business Centre Gloucester in Quedgeley in November 2021.

Inspired by its popularity, Amanda and her husband, Mike, began searching for a new opportunity in summer 2023.

After brainstorming with the help of their three children, they drew up plans for a new confectionery shop called Sweet Bro.

The shop boasts a large pick and mix machine and stocks a range of sweets including Hershey, Millions and Tango Blast.

It was inspired by the couple's interest in retro and international candy and drinks that appealed to their three children aged six to 10. Previously, they found much of the market was aimed at teenagers.

Amanda and Mike began renovating their unit at Space Business Centre in the summer.

Mike, a former fitness instructor, said: "Having already been familiar with Space Gloucester, we were sure that the move into the new unit would be clear, simple and timely and it was exactly that."

The new shop opened in October, following a makeover of the unit with new décor including custom graffiti art of a colourful monkey by Birmingham-based artist Adam Illes.

Since opening, the store has seen more customers every week. Amanda and Mike now have plans to create a local delivery service and expand into corporate events, while continuing to trial different types of sweets and drinks in store.
