An activewear and athleisure brand has returned to profit for the first time since 2021.
Sweaty Betty, which has stores in Cheltenham and at Cotswolds Designer Outlet in Tewkesbury, made a profit of £1.5m over 2024, compared to a £13.4m pre-tax loss the previous year, as reported by Retail Gazette.

Over the same period, it cut staff numbers from 990 to 903.
Sales were down slightly during the year - from £144.2m to £140.4m. UK sales fell from £116.4m to £111m and US sales were down from £13.5m to £9.3m.
Across the rest of the world, sales rose from £14.2m to £19.9m over the year.
Sweaty Betty attributed its improved financial position to tighter cost control and improved gross margin performance, as well as moving its North American wholesale operations from Sweaty Betty Ltd.
