Sainsbury’s teams up with Costa

Sainsbury's is launching Costa Coffee cafés at stores across the UK.

The coffee chain is set to invest more than £3m in 11 coffee shops in Sainsbury's stores this year, as reported by Retail Gazette.

The first café opened earlier this month in a Sainsbury's in Plymouth. The retailer hasn't yet announced where and when the next Costa coffee shops will open.

The collaboration builds on the supermarket giant's ongoing partnership with Costa, with more than 1,000 Costa Express machines in its stores and petrol stations.

Costa is already a familiar sight in Tesco stores, including those in Cheltenham and Bishop's Cleeve, while Sainsbury's used to have Starbucks coffee shops in its stores, including its Tewkesbury Road supermarket in Cheltenham.
