ProCook donates over £2,500 to animal sanctuary

Gloucester-based kitchenware retailer, ProCook, has donated £2,672 to Teckels Animal Sanctuary.

The charity, based in Whitminster, was chosen by ProCook colleagues at the company's Store Support Centre at St Modwen Park.

Several ProCook team members volunteered at Teckels as part of their Good Cause Day, which entitles every ProCook employee one day a year to volunteer at a charity of their choice.

Established in 2003, Teckels Animal Sanctuary is a small, independent charity which offers a safe haven for dogs and cats, giving them the care and rehabilitation they need to find their forever homes.

Sophie Henley, ProCook's sustainability and community impact manager, said: "We're so pleased to be supporting a local charity that is in desperate need of donations at this time. Teckels was chosen by our colleagues and is one close to our hearts - some colleagues have previously volunteered there, and one has even adopted a cat!

"It's been a rewarding experience for all of us at ProCook to raise these much-needed funds and we're looking forward to doing similar fundraising activities in 2024."

Sarah Johnson, manager at Teckels Animal Sanctuary, said: "We are so very grateful for the lovely donation from ProCook, and to the team for choosing us. It has been a very challenging year, with so many animals needing our help, so knowing that we have the support from businesses like ProCook is simply amazing!"

In the past, ProCook has supported local charities such as Wiggly, The Nelson Trust and Young Gloucester through fundraising and donating seconds stock which cannot be resold in its stores.

ProCook also has a long-term charity partnership with Life's a Beach, a charity dedicated to eradicating single use plastics from British beaches and waters with clean-ups and school outreach.
