New exhibitor to tech and media show

A Gloucestershire-based network solutions company is taking part in a top industry event.

Gbics have announced they will be joining the Media Production & Technology Show 2024.

It will be the first time the Cirencester company has exhibited at the industry event that showcases the latest technological advancements in broadcasting.

The Media Production and Technology Show is held at The Olympia, London, in May every year.

Gbics specialise in fibre optic products that have been integrated in bespoke networking solutions to the broadcast industry, enabling advancements in data transfer, data storage and outside broadcasting for over 10 years.

They have collaborated with global leaders in network technology, most recently NVIDIA, enabling them to deliver best-in-class network performance, serving low-latency, high-throughput applications for companies and organisations such as EMG.

One of the projects Gbics is most proud of is the work done with Hawk-Eye [JB1] Innovations, the optical tracking system developed for use in sport to aid refereeing and umpire decisions, such as at the net in tennis and at the wicket in cricket.

Gbics director James Burgess said: "Hawk-Eye have been at the forefront of sports officiating and broadcast enhancement technology for a long time. Being directly involved with the R&D team running their software technology through our transceivers, was an exciting and extremely rewarding project."
