Following a successful fundraising event, leading care provider Radis Community Care has purchased a new defibrillator for one of its extra care services.

Middleton House Extra Care, a retirement community in Cheltenham, provides residents with around-the-clock on-site care staff and wanted to increase safety measures even further.

Middleton House is owned and run by Sanctuary Supported Living and has 49 apartments.

Getta Sutton, service manager at Middleton House said: "The event was magnificent, and we've been blown away with the amount of positive feedback we've received since.

"Residents, family members and even neighbours have continued to talk about the feeling of fun, buzz and excitement of the day, describing it as the perfect lift to end the year."

Getta further explained: "We regularly have neighbours and the residents' family members visiting our restaurant and facilities, and having such lifesaving equipment to hand could serve both our clients and the local community. It's something we're incredibly proud of."

Rachel Brooks-O'Dell, regional manager at Radis Community Care, said, "With huge help and support from our Gloucester Visiting Care Service and Live-In Care Service Team, we're thrilled to have been able to have a defibrillator installed at one of our extra care services. We hope it's never used, but it's reassuring to know that it's there should it be needed."

The defibrillator has now been logged online, making it available to the entire community to use.
