EXCLUSIVE: Huge commercial unit in Gloucester coming up for grabs

A huge commercial site in Gloucester is coming up for grabs after AHF announced it was shutting down.

The furniture store in Gloucester Retail Park will close next year and a new business is being sought for the 27,249 sqft unit.

It sits in between The Range and B&M and is just down the road from the former Interbew site where American giant Costco plans to open a warehouse store.

A source told Punchline AHF (Anglia Home Furnishings) will shut its doors in October and four staff will be made redundant.

A closing down sale is being held in the run up to the closure of the expansive unit, with sofas, beds and tables at "rock bottom prices" according to the company's website.

Adam Patrick from agents Edgerley Simpson Howe confirmed the news and said: "AHF will be closing 'shortly' but won't be seeking to relocate within Gloucester as their relatively new Cheltenham store covers this side of the catchment well enough."

The news store in Tewkesbury Road is seven miles away and opened in December 2022 under the Fabb Furniture branding, the parent company of AHF.

The unit in Gloucester is occupied by AHF through a sublease from the headlease holder Central England Cooperative Society.

The property will be available to let when the headlease expires in September 2024

Mr Patrick said: "There's no immediate rush from my clients perspective to relet, but our client is of course already exploring any new interest."
