A major Gloucester road will be closed overnight for resurfacing from tomorrow (February 14).

Barnwood Road and Hucclecote Road will be closed from 8pm until 7am for approximately 36 nights, excluding Saturdays. The planned end date of the works is March 26.

The works will take place in six sections:

• Hucclecote Road - Gransmoor Grange bus stop to Delta Way (business park four-way lights)

• Hucclecote Road - Churchdown Lane to Gransmoor Grange bus stop

• Hucclecote Road - Hillview Road to Churchdown Lane

• Hucclecote Road - North Upton Lane to Hillview Road

• Hucclecote Road - Church Lane to North Upton Lane

• Barnwood Road - Walls Roundabout to Church Lane

Gloucestershire County Council hasn't confirmed exactly when work on each section will take place.

The official diversion route along the A38 and A417 will be signposted and is suitable for all vehicles which would normally use the closed road.
