Gloucester City Homes has appointed two new board members.

Milla Mazilu and Alan Inman-Ward join the board to bring expertise in customer experience, data analytics and project management.

Milla and Alan were appointed on January 1 following a competitive and extensive recruitment process.

Milla Mazilu started her career in the railway industry - working with Union Railways on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project. She then moved to Network Rail to work in programme controls and data analytics.

Milla is a member of the Association for Project Management, the chartered body for the project profession. In her commitment to community service, Milla has volunteered with the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways as permanent way worker and supported the Royal Academy of Engineering's Project CARE initiative.

Currently, Milla actively participates in the Association for Project Management having been elected as a trustee in 2016 and then as chair of the association in 2022.

Milla said: "I'm really looking forward to being part of the GCH board and working with everyone to create a vibrant, sustainable future for generations to come.

"I will be looking to listen to the perspectives, experiences, and ideas of fellow board members, staff and residents, so that I can gain a sense of what's going well and where we can improve.

"By working closely together, we can come up with creative solutions, to benefit our communities and help people thrive, whether it be through improved housing conditions, access to essential services, or community initiatives that foster social connections and support networks."

Alan Inman-Ward is the director of insight and operations at Active Gloucestershire, responsible for the insight, data, IT and risk strategies. He also works as a data consultant with Create Gloucestershire, bringing significant change in culture around the employment and impact of using data.

Alan has worked in customer experience roles for over 20 years and been involved in the social housing sector for eight, initially as an early pioneer of using insight and outcomes-based measures at Charter Housing Association (POBL) and more recently as a founding board member of Tai Ffres: an exciting new approach to housing young people at risk of homelessness in Cardiff.

Alan said: "I'm excited to join GCH as a board member. It's important to me that there is a diversity in the range of tenants' voices heard, and their voice is a driving force in how we provide safe and decent homes.

"As a board member I will strive to ensure that we work towards our mission and vision, in the right way - living by our values."
