Fashion retailer to close Cheltenham store

A shop on Cheltenham's Promenade is set to close, less than two years after it opened.

Fashion retailer, LK Bennett, opened its store in the former Maythers card shop at 80 Promenade in May 2023. Now signs in the window say it is closing down with 70% of all stock.

It's not the first time LK Bennett has closed a shop in Cheltenham.

It previously occupied a large unit on the corner of The Promenade, which closed in August 2019, when the firm went into administration, before being bought by Byland UK.

The luxury fashion brand sells ready-to-wear collections incorporating clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories and is popular with Catherine, Princess of Wales.

The retailer has just 12 UK stores, including Cheltenham, and concessions in a number of department stores.
