With a potential value of £800 million over four years, this partnership represents a significant milestone for both organisations.

Mathew Vye, associate director at E G Carter & Co Ltd, said: "We are thrilled to be selected as one of the building contractors for SNG's new homes programme.

"With over 20 years in partnership with SNG, this opportunity allows us to use our expertise and experience in construction to contribute towards building thriving communities and delivering homes that meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability."

SNG's selection process, focused on criteria such as quality, social value, sustainability, health and safety, financial standing, contract management and pricing, highlighting its commitment to excellence.

Tom Titherington, chief investment and development officer at SNG, said: "This is a crucial step towards delivering our ambitious plans for thousands of good, affordable, new homes that are desperately needed.

"I'm pleased we now have a framework in place with some of the best home builders in the industry.
