Cheltenham software company Cedar Bay sells IFS division

Cheltenham-headquartered software company Cedar Bay has sold its IFS division to Arcwide.

The business based on Andoversford Industrial Estate provides IFS (Industrial and Financial Systems) services and solutions to clients.

It does this through the reselling of IFS Cloud, IFS professional services, managed infrastructure, premium support, and CB Digital Factory.

Arcwide - the joint venture of BearingPoint and IFS - is dedicated to the deployment of IFS Cloud services and operates in 14 countries across the world in 23 offices..

It said the acquisition is "strategically expanding" its capabilities to offer clients end-to-end services.

It said there is a rising demand for IFS software and solutions in the United Kingdom and U.S.

Andy Green, Arcwide COO, said: "We are thrilled to welcome a team of experts who align seamlessly with our company's values, marking a pivotal move in establishing the key foundations for our future expansion in Europe and America."

Established in 2008, Cedar Bay has two main headquarters, one in Gloucestershire and one in America.

It said the deal made it part of a "wider and deeper network of resources" and "enhances its commitment to providing exceptional customer service".

"This strategic move is based on the high regard in which the Cedar Bay team is held within the IFS community," said the statement.

"It will not only solidify Arcwide's position as a leader in IFS consulting in the United Kingdom but will also set the stage for the company to enhance its presence in the United States and bolsters its already significant position in the European market."

Steve Barr, head of sales at Cedar Bay will take on the role of UK country manager.

Roger Teagle, CEO and founder of Cedar Bay, wrote on LinkedIn: "A big day for Cedar Bay and the team.

"Cedar Bay is an excellent team and with the scale and added depth that Arcwide brings this will be a very positive move for our customers and staff.

"I have been proud to have been on this journey with all the great people in the business and I know they will be in safe hands with Steve Barr at the helm."
