Billy Twelvetrees joins Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation

The Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation have announced that Billy Twelvetrees is returning to Kingsholm to join their board of trustees.

Twelvetrees is a Gloucester Rugby club legend. In a career at the Cherry and White's spanning 11 years, he was a key figure throughout his time at Gloucester.

He was named as captain for the 2014/15 season and he led his side to a European Challenge Cup title that year. The back also won 22 Test match caps for England and was part of the 2013 British and Irish Lions squad that toured Australia.

Twelvetrees now plies his trade on the pitch for Ealing Trailfinders, having moved to the club ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, and off the pitch is studying to become a financial accountant.

His experience and knowledge will be a fantastic addition to the board and he will be the trustee with oversight of the 4Ed campaign, nominated by Ed Slater.

Speaking on his appointment, Twelvetrees said: "I'm delighted to have joined as a trustee of the Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation, to ensure that the 4Ed campaign helps as many families who are living with MND as possible and that we build on the support and generosity of everyone who has donated to the 4Ed campaign."

Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation CEO Rob Webber added: "It is important to us that we get great people on our board, to lead and guide the charity and to ensure that we have the biggest impact on the communities of Gloucestershire.

"Billy will bring with him a lot of experience and knowledge and will represent Ed at board level, enabling us to deliver the 4Ed campaign effectively."
