Big sales rise for Pandora

The world's biggest jewellery brand reported a 12% rise in sales in the run-up to Christmas.

Pandora, which has stores in Gloucester and Cheltenham, saw the increase in the final three months of the year, as reported by This is Money.

Sales for the full year were up 8% to £3.2 billion - better than the 5% to 6% predicted in early November. Profits rose 4% to £808 million. This was despite a flattening of the overall jewellery market.

The retailer attributed its success to marketing campaigns with celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, which helped it grow market share at the end of the year.

The activist and former Baywatch star was hired to promote the retailer's lab-made diamonds collection.
