Be a Hub Hero this Christmas!

The Allsorts Christmas Appeal this year focuses on the cost of running its base in Brunel Mall, Stroud which has increased from £100 to £160 a day in five years.

This Stroud-based charity brings families together who have disabled children and children with additional needs, throughout Gloucestershire, providing long lasting support networks and reducing feelings of isolation.

Allsorts focuses on enabling their members to have new experiences, by taking part in different activities to improve their physical and mental health.

Delivered through a vast schedule of fun activities, family trips and support groups providing:

  • Sport, exercise and movement sessions
  • Young adult and teens social groups and work experience
  • Whole family activities
  • Parent and carer support and information sessions

Allsorts, which currently supports more than 365 families, also provides a variety of support groups for all members of the family, from siblings to grandparents, to help build a resilient family unit.

Fun is at the heart of everything Allsorts does as they strongly believe everyone has the right to find enjoyment in life, companionship, and a sense of belonging.

Rachael Fletcher, fundraising manager, said: "The Activity Hub is an incredible base. It is the venue for our specialist toy library, Changing Places facility, as well as having a fantastic sensory room, and multi-functional space for all of our support groups.

"Since we moved into the Activity Hub five years ago, the cost of running the hub on a daily basis has increased by 60%. The cost-of-living crisis has not only affected our families but also us as a charity too. Your readers' donations can make a huge difference to the lives of member families throughout Gloucestershire."

A gift from you this Christmas could make a huge impact to Allsorts and enable them to plan their 2024 programme with confidence.
