Officers are appealing for witnesses to an attempted knifepoint robbery involving two groups of teenagers which took place in Gloucester on Monday (January 22).

Police were called to Stroud Road, close to Oakbank Road, at around 3.45pm with a report that two teenage boys had tried to rob another group of teenagers of a bicycle as they were walking home from school.

It was reported that the victims were walking along the road when they were approached by the two teenagers who threatened them with a knife and demanded to be given a bicycle.

The victim refused to give his bicycle to the males and the offenders both ran away in different directions.

The offenders were described as being two males between the ages of 14-years-old and 17-years-old. They were both wearing balaclavas with their hoods up.

One of them was wearing grey joggers, a black hoody and a black puffer coat while the second was wearing black trousers with a solid white stripe down the side of the legs, a black coat and riding a bicycle.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved and officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened but has not yet spoken to police to make contact.

Officers are also asking members of the public to be vigilant in the area and report any suspicious activity. They are keen to hear from anyone who has mobile phone, CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident.
