Wychwood Festival announces Sunday line-up

Wychwood Festival is set to return to Cheltenham Racecourse next June and some great artists have just been announced for the Sunday.

Scottish pop rock band Deacon Blue will be headlining, while music legend Peter Hook will also be playing, with The South joining the party in the afternoon.

A spokesperson for the festival said: "It's been a long couple of years, but we're beyond happy to be preparing for our next Wychwood Festival, and to be able to invite you along to our party!

"We're delighted to announce that multi-million album-selling Deacon Blue will be closing out the first Wychwood in three years! With hits such as "Dignity", "Real Gone Kid" and "Chocolate Girl" we can't wait to welcome them to Wychwood!

"Getting you warmed up for Deacon Blue will be living legend Peter Hook & The Light who will be playing his iconic back catalogue of anthems from his Joy Division and New Order days such as "Love Will Tear Us Apart", "Blue Monday" and "Disorder".

"Plus we've got The South joining us in the afternoon and we can't wait to dance in the sun with a drink in hand singing along to "Rotterdam", "A Little Time" and, of course, "Perfect 10"!"

Wychwood favourites Dreadzone will also be making an appearance, heading back to play their first show at Wychwood since 2015.

Also taking to the stage on the Sunday will be Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band, Merry Hell and Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer.

And not forgetting Wychwood favourite Craig Charles who'll be back to bring his Funk & Soul Club to the dance tent on Sunday.

The spokesperson added: "Over the coming months we'll be announcing our music, comedy and workshop programmes plus all the other marvellous things you'll be able to experience at Wychwood next June."

The 16th Annual Wychwood Festival takes place from Friday, June 3, to Sunday, June 5, at Cheltenham Racecourse.
