Walk for Hollie returns this Sunday

The Hollie Gazzard Trust's Walk 4 Hollie is back this Sunday, 15 May.

The charity walk that has been cancelled or forced to go virtual over the pandemic is making a welcome return and will begin at 10am on Sunday at The Glevum Inn, Longlevens.

The domestic abuse charity, based in Gloucester, will start the route by heading to Longford then head into Gloucester, past Kingsholm then loop to return to The Glevum Inn.

"You can either join us on the walk in person or, if you can't make it to Gloucester, do it in your local area," explained Nick Gazzard, father of Hollie Gazzard, who tragically, at just 20 years old, experienced domestic abuse and stalking prior to being fatally stabbed by an ex-partner at her place of work in Gloucester in February 2014.

"We have special goodie bags which you can pay for and collect on the day of the walk. They are just £5 and we have kids and adult versions. Walk 3km, 5km or a full 10km challenge - or further if you wish," he added.

If you would like to challenge yourself with your Walk4Hollie and raise additional funds you can set up your own fundraising page via the event page. Once set up you can ask your friends, family, and work colleagues to sponsor you.

To enter Walk4Hollie, a minimum donation of £5 per person is requested. If you can donate more, that is great too! You can donate via this event page.

Walk4Hollie participants are encouraged to wear an item of pink or purple, take a selfie and post on social media using the hashtag #Walk4Hollie2022.
