Two courses for twitchers at Slimbridge

Expert help is on hand for birdwatchers keen to hone their skills at two courses at WWT Slimbridge.

This Saturday (September 11), a Birding for Beginners course takes place from 8am to 10.30am.

Get to grips with bird identification with the help of one of Slimbridge's experienced reserve wardens. Join them to complete the morning visits to the bird hides to see what birds are around and get help identifying a variety of species including waders, ducks and passerines.

The course, which costs £18, is followed by breakfast in the Kingfisher Kitchen.

Then on Friday, October 8, and Advanced Birder course is being held for enthusiasts to develop and refine their birding skills.

As well as getting help identifying and ageing a variety of species, you can learn how to use weather conditions and habitat to get more from your birding.

The course, which costs £30, runs from 8am to 12pm and includes a mid-session break for breakfast in the Kingfisher Kitchen.

There are currently only two places left for the second course.
